About the Role

The Assistant Security Manager will report directly to the Security Manager. He will offer support to manage a team of over 100 security staff. He will coordinate day to day security activities in liaison with the Security Manager as the Second in Command which includes among others attendance, deployment and welfare. 


We are looking for a candidate who is firm and at the same time fair in discharging his mandate, with a demonstrated experience in security operations at a senior level in a well-established organization. 


The ideal candidate should have a passion in conservation and community service which is part of Mukutan Conservancy ideals.

‐ Mukutan Community adjacent to the conservancy,

‐ Government Partners such as but not limited to: KWS, KFS, NPS, Local Government Administration, County and National Government Officials,

Who You Are

  1. Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Security Management or a Diploma in Security Management combined with training from KWS on Wildlife Management and Paramilitary training.

  2. 5+ years of experience in security operations at middle management level in a reputable organization dealing with conservation and wildlife management is desirable.

  3. Good understanding of the industry regulations and laws, including firearms and security procedures.

  4. Excellent communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili.

  5. Proficiency in the use of computers and various security equipment like radio calls and tracking devices.

  6. Ability to take proactive initiative, work independently with minimal supervision.

  7. Strong work ethics, high integrity and honesty, and ability to work well in a team.

  8. Good leadership skills with ability to manage complex operations.

  9. Must be between the ages of 35 and 45.

  • A starting gross salary of Kshs. 80,000.
